Why I Prefer Text Over Calls

As a one-man handyman operation, I’m often on a ladder, under a sink, or with tools in my hands. Stopping to take a call can be tough—and it slows both of us down. Text lets me stay responsive without breaking stride.

 

It also makes things easier for you. No missed calls, no voicemail tag, just a quick message you can send when it’s convenient. Texting is simple, fast, and keeps us both on the same page from the very beginning.

Clear Documentation (Nothing Gets Missed)

One of the best parts of texting is that it creates a written record. I’m human—I can forget small details from a phone call, but with text, I always have your list right in front of me. That means fewer mistakes and a smoother experience for both of us.

 

It also helps if we’re messaging back and forth over a few days. I can scroll up, double-check the scope, and make sure everything is covered. And if at some point it makes more sense to just talk it out, I’ll give you a call.

About the 6 PM Cut-Off

My 6 PM cut-off simply means that texts need to come in before then to qualify for the same-day guarantee.

 

It doesn’t mean I stop working on quotes at 6 o’clock sharp. If you text me at 5:59, I’ll still get your quote back to you that day.

In fact, I often spend time in the evenings catching up on quotes and clarifying details with customers well into the night.

 

Texting makes that possible, because I can answer when I’m free without making you wait until the next morning.

What I Do (and Don’t Do)

I handle almost everything when it comes to handyman work—residential and commercial projects, plus 24/7 emergency services when something can’t wait. Common jobs include:

  • Lighting installation: ceiling fans, chandeliers, pendants, vanity lights, outdoor fixtures

  • Plumbing installations: faucets, toilets, disposals, shut-off valves, bathroom vanities

  • Repairs & small projects: vanity installations, appliance installs, caulking, trim repairs, hardware installs, minor flooring fixes

  • And just about everything else, it's easier to tell you want I don't do


***The only things I don’t do, are painting, roofing, or very large single tasks projects (like full-house flooring replacement).  For example, I'll repair some flooring or do a smaller room installations, but if you want something more, I'd recommend a flooring contractor, etc.
