Handymen working

Why Professional Handyman?

What sets me apart

1.  Owner/operated:

Most handyman companies staff employees, or worse, subcontractors to do the work.  No employee or sub is ever going to share the same commitment as the owner.

With Professional Handyman I do it all.  I answer the phone, schedule the work, quote it and complete it.  Myself.  I prefer it this way.

Working under the owner/operator model, I can ensure the highest quality customer experience possible and deliver on my motto of professional, punctual, and affordable.

2.  Licensed General Contractor

As a licensed contractor of 16 years I have both the knowledge and the hands on experience to easily handle any home or business handyman task.

3.  My 5 point pledge:

-keep our scheduled appointment

-communicate clearly

-show up on time

-offer competitive pricing

-deliver the highest quality work

This pledge came about as a result of my own frustration with subcontractors I hired during my time before Professional Handyman.  Things they didn't always do.

4.  Well equipped:

I work out of a 16' enclosed trailer that I custom built just for handyman work.

Not only is it well stocked and organized with the best tools and materials, but it also has power, running water, a kitchenette, and a wardrobe.  A little home away from home.  See a slideshow here.

5.  1 year warranty

All work I do is backed by a 1 year workmanship warranty.  A true professional stands by his work.

6.  Free "how to" advice

That's right.  No catches.  Free to existing customers and potential future customers alike.

I applaud the industrious types and will gladly offer them tips on how to tackle some repairs themselves.

My Business

A little bit about me

My name is Chad Walker.  I'm the owner operator of Professional Handyman.

I grew up in Cornelius N.C. and attended North Mecklenburg High School, later earning a B.A. in sociology from the University Of North Carolina at Charlotte.

A licensed general contractor since 2006, I have mostly done larger scale projects since then.  As a favor to some of my customers I occasionally did handyman work for them.  The more I did this, the more I came to appreciate the simplicity of daily work.

Gone were the worries of laborers, subcontractors, building inspectors, and impossible schedules.

Now I do handyman work exclusively and I'm happier for it.

A Zen filled life.
